Installation Instructions

 

The G9 protection module mentioned in the Transport Canada or NHTSA Recall Notice must be installed in the customers unit. To view the installation instructions please press, “View Document”. Note: A copy of the installation instructions will be provided with the G9 protection module.

To close the recall and receive reimbursement for the labor done to the customers RV please fill in this form, upload invoice, and submit. If you cannot see the file drop window appear when your press, “Add Invoice” ensure popups are enabled on your browser.

Questions and Answers

Can our non Pleasure-Way service center service a Tofino?

For this installation, YES! Although we encourage owners to use a Pleasure-Way service center for all their Tofino needs, the G9 Protection Module can be installed by any service center.

Does the service technician need to be familiar with the Pleasure-Way Tofino?

No. Any service technician familiar with 12 volt systems can follow the instructions and install the G9 Protection Unit.

What tools are required?

Basic hand tools:

  • Screwdriver

  • ½ inch socket, extension, and ratchet

  • Torque wrench (capable of measuring 70 inch pounds of torque)

  • Wire stripper

Are any unit updates or programming required?

No.

 

How long should it take to install the G9 Protection Module?

The installation with removing and reinstalling the cabinet top should take approximately 15 minutes if familiar with the steps. We have allowed up to 30 minutes of time for service center reimbursement.

How long should installation steps take?

  • ~5 minutes to remove cabinet top and access unit

  • ~5 minutes to install G9 Protection Module

    • Remove power cable and nut

    • Install G9 Protection module and re-torque nut

    • Replace power cable to lug and re-torque nut on G9 Protection Module

    • Splice ground connection with WAGO connector

  • ~5 minutes to reinstall cabinet top and replace RV accessories

How does the service center get paid?

Select the “Labor Reimbursement” tab, https://www.g9recall-pw.com/servicecenter#labor , fill in the basic data, select the “Upload Invoice”, upload the invoice, and you will be reimbursed promptly. 

Troubleshooting.

Once the module is connected properly and powered on, if the LED light does not come on, what do I do? Contact us at 877-977-2752.
